About The Friends of Ticehurst

Since commencing efforts towards the end of 2014, an informal group of interested staff, relatives and/or friends, have assisted with various projects and/or activities.

The informal Friends of Ticehurst team was established through the efforts of Julie Butler who is the Chairperson of the Committee.  Julie's Mother-in-Law spent some time at Ticehurst and as Julie was enormously impressed with the level of care, enthusiasm, kindness and compassion, she decided to assist with the fund raising efforts of the dedicated team at Ticehurst to further enhance the quality of residents' lives and so, The Friends of Ticehurst was born.

About Ticehurst

A Hampshire County Council facility, Ticehurst Care Home with Nursing, based in Aldershot hosts 86 beds with 38 in residential and 48 in nursing, five of which are used for patient rehabilitation purposes.  With a large team of over 100 staff members, Peninah Mutambisi (Ticehurst Registered Manager) is responsible for leading, monitoring, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating residents' care and needs on a daily basis.

The nursing section looks after those patients requiring long term and "nursed in bed" care; patients who need more intense nursing and intense monitoring. There is close co-operation with families - care plans are set up and decisions taken about next steps and when appropriate, family members are able to make use of a sofa bed and the home's facilities.

The residential section has a registered and specialised care rating for old age, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Ticehurst underwent an "Overview and CQC Inspection" in 2017 and hearty congratulations are due to Peninah and her amazing team for a great result!!  Click here to see full details of the inspection.
